  • Experience Summary Mr. Braithwaite started his internship in the field of environmental engineering at age 16. He now has over 35 years of environmental engineering experience, specializing in wastewater treatment, in solid and hazardous waste management, including contaminated sediment management, and in remedial investigation, design and construction. Mr. Braithwaite jointly holds a U.S. patent for inventions related to soil vapor extraction systems for remediation of soil contamination. He also has a long background in wastewater management, and is experienced employing a wide variety of technologies (including biological reactors, physio-chemical treatment, carbon adsorption, air stripping, and disinfection) to creatively and cost-effectively provide wastewater treatment solutions.

    During his career, Mr. Braithwaite has served Fortune 500 companies in the US and Europe, providing senior-level consultation on issues of strategic environmental management, corrective action concept development, permitting, design, and construction. In recent years, Mr. Braithwaite has performed considerable litigation support relating to cost allocation on corrective action projects. He specializes in assisting clients and counsel achieve equitable cost allocation outcomes based on rational evaluation of historical information combined with collection of new forensic data.

    Mr. Braithwaite has also been active in the professional community. Beginning in 1992, he has served as a subject matter expert for the National Council of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors and participated in the development of the first National Environmental Engineering Licensing Standards for use across the U.S. Mr. Braithwaite also served a three-year term as Chairman of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers Solid Waste Sub-Committee, and completed an updated version of the Board Certification Exam used nationally for certifying engineers in the specialty of Solid Waste Management.
